May 15, 2022 – January 8, 2023 at The Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, NY

This exhibition was curated by Alexandra Ruggiero (lead curator), Dr. Katherine Larson, Susie Silbert, and Carole Ann Fabian. Learn more about the exhibition here.

Makers is one of three presentations curated for the exhibition by Alexandra. Interpretative content for Makers was created in partnership with Seneca artists Mary Jacobs and Samantha Jacobs, and Troy Smythe (CMoG Manager of Intrepretation Strategy and Education Projects); Mary and Samantha’s perspectives and generosity with their knowledge were integral to creating the exhibition display and enhancing the Museum’s understanding of a Beaded Match Safe (Made by members of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, probably Kanienʼkehá꞉ka (Mohawk) Nation. Made in Haudenosaunee Confederacy territory, in about 1917. Acquired in Chautauqua, New York, United States. 96.4.67, gift of the Stillman Family).
